The J/70 Speedster is J/Boats’ first fully ramp-launchable, performance keelboat. It was designed to fulfil a growing niche for an easy-to-own, high performance, one-design boat that is exciting (and easy) to sail, stable enough for the entire family, easy to tow behind a car, easy to rig and easy to launch. Plus, J/70s are built to last!
The J/70 worldwide fleet is over 1,300 boats strong, attracting some of the most talented sailors in the world and helping to spark growth of numerous sailing leagues across Europe.
J/70s are replacing tired old keelboat fleets at a number of sailing clubs and helping to reinvigorate membership by attracting younger sailors into the ranks. The boat won ‘2013 Sailing World Overall Boat of the Year’ and has since taken the sailing world by storm. These days, it is safe to say that there is a J/70 event happening almost every weekend somewhere around the world!

Speaking of events, Swisspath are proud to be currently sponsoring a J/70 called ‘PAGET’ which is competing in the 2018/19 Monaco Sportsboat Winter Series. There are 30 boats competing in three classes, comprising of Melges 20s, Smeralda 888s and J/70s. The event is organised by Yacht Club de Monaco in collaboration with technical clothing supplier SLAM. There are five regattas (aka ‘acts’), one each month, all held in the beautiful bay of Monaco. ‘Act 1’ took place on 8-11 November and Mother Nature served up some lovely sailing conditions to get six races in. Stay tuned to see how ‘PAGET’ (sail number MON 732) gets on at the forthcoming acts listed below!

Act 2: 6 – 9 December 2018
